Yannick Dauby
Yannick Dauby (born 1974, France) is sound artist, field recordist, sound designer/mixer for film, audio documentary maker and electroacoustic music composer based in Taiwan. His works are inspired by ethnography, amphibian conservation, stories from the forests & mountains and marine biology. Collaborates with communities and individuals in Hakka villages and Indigenous territories. As a field recordist, he has particular interest for animal or natural environment sounds as well as urban or industrial contexts and unusual acoustic phenomenon. Each excursion is the pretext of a sonic gathering, and often leads to the realization of a phonographic collage. He works oftenl in collaboration with other musicians, and with visual artists, producing multimedia performances or installations. He is interested into studies about soundscape and listening-based relationships with animals. His work has been published and presented in various international festivals and labels.
